LaBronze
Garrett has been on the international track and field circuit for the past
four years. Growing up in Marshall, Texas he was an all-around
athlete, competing in football, basketball, baseball and track and field.
It was his parents that pushed LaBronze to pursue track and field.
In
college he was an NCAA All-American at the University of Georgia and upon
completing a degree in criminal justice started looking towards track and
field as a professional opportunity. In 2003 he began working with
renowned coach and agent Paul Doyle who helped shape him into a World Class
athlete. That same year he knocked ½ a second off his personal best
and made his first appearance at the US National Championships finals.
The next year Garrett began to become a real threat to competitors as he
placed 5th at the 2004 Olympic trials and made the 2004 World Championship
4x400 relay team that just missed a bronze medal in Budapest. His goal
for 2007 is to consistently drop his PB and prepare for the 2008 Olympic
Trials.
